The Sistema Museale di Ateneo

The Sistema Museale di Ateneo is a coordinated system of structures and services dedicated, both directly and through associated structures, to the collection, protection, enrichment, classification, valorization, study and proposal to the public, not only to the university, of the University’s assets of historical, artistic, archaeological and naturalistic interest. The aim of the SMA is the integration of the various museum structures of the University, in order to optimize the use of financial and personnel resources, and to achieve greater effectiveness also in strengthening the relationship between the University and the Territory. The SMA currently includes the Museo di Biologia Marina “Pietro Parenzan” di Porto Cesareo (LE), the Museo dell’Ambiente (sede Ecotekne), the Museo Diffuso di Cavallino (LE), the Museo Papirologico “Mario Capasso” (sede Studium 2000), the Museo Storico Archeologico (sede Studium 2000), the Orto Botanico (sede Ecotekne), the Osservatorio su Ecologia e Salute degli Ecosistemi Mediterranei (Faro di Punta Palascia, Otranto)
