Sustainable insulation solutions and digital twins for indoor comfort: experimental evaluation using sensor networks
Activities proposed
A study conducted as part of the European Horizon Europe project MULTICLIMACT proposes a non-destructive experimental investigation using an integrated sensor network. The study aims to compare the thermal, hygrothermal, and indoor air quality (IAQ) performance of wall assemblies featuring sustainable and commercially available insulation materials and surface finishes, in alignment with European directives seeking to combine energy efficiency, comfort, and healthy indoor environments. Key objectives include evaluating the integrated system's effectiveness in developing a digital twin based on continuous monitoring to support the ongoing management of sustainable buildings.
