Messengers from the Cosmos: Observing the Invisible Universe with Auger and DAMPE
Activities proposed

How do we observe the most energetic particles in the Universe? How can we study the sources that emit them? This activity is designed to guide the audience to discover the most energetic cosmic ray particles and the techniques we use to detect them. From the vast Argentine pampas, where the Pierre Auger Observatory captures atmospheric showers generated by ultra-high-energy cosmic rays, to deep space, where the DAMPE satellite searches for traces of dark matter, cosmic rays, and gamma rays. Through models, videos, small detectors, and stories of frontier physics, participants will discover how these two giant "eyes" — one grounded on Earth and the other in orbit — work together to unveil the darkest and most captivating secrets of our Cosmos.
