Thursday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m., in Brindisi, at the Church of San Michele Arcangelo – Scuole Pie, the inauguration of the archaeological collection will take place within the framework of the “Giovanni Tarantini” Diocesan Museum. On this occasion, His Excellency Archbishop Giovanni Intini, Archbishop of Brindisi-Ostuni, will impart a blessing upon the work accomplished.

The museum display, featuring archaeological finds from the Protohistoric, Greco-Roman, and Medieval periods, focuses on the exhibition of artifacts and ecofacts that became part of the collections of two renowned clergymen and scholars of the Adriatic city: Monsignor Annibale De Leo and Monsignor Giovanni Tarantini.

The museographic project, now presented in its initial stage of development, has been carried out over the past year also within the framework of a collaboration between the Archiepiscopal Public Library “A. De Leo” and the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Salento. The realization of the display has been made possible thanks to the commitment of Dr. Katiuscia Di Rocco and Professors Giovanni Mastronuzzi, Teodoro Scarano, and Marco Leo Imperiale, supported in the technical-scientific coordination by Dr. Valeria Melissano.
