The chemical approach to artificial embodiment requires the autopoietic model

This poster offers a concise overview of the theoretical framework and preliminary findings of the ongoing PRIN-2022 project titled Org(SB-EAI) – An Organizational Approach to the Synthetic Modeling of Cognition Based on Synthetic Biology and Embodied AI (Project No. 20222HHXAX). We propose a novel organizational paradigm for Embodied AI, emphasizing the role of biological organization. Drawing on methodologies from Synthetic Biology and Systems Chemistry, the project explores wetware-based models that carry significant theoretical implications and point toward applications in biotechnologies.
