Biomedical Research Night 2025 - IV Edition

The fourth edition of “Biomedical Research Night”, an event sponsored by the University of Salento, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and the Local Health Agency from Lecce, in collaboration with Salento Biomedical District, will be held on September 26 2025, from 3 to 9 pm, at the Palazzo Baronale Lopez y Royo in Monteroni di Lecce (LE).


The initiative aims to present the synergy between research, education, and industrial healthcare.


The event is targeted at physicians, researchers and students, and an initial seminar session is scheduled with speeches by clinicians and university professors.  

Afterwards, the so-called “Contamination Time” will be an opportunity for students to meet with the physicians and discuss with them.


To conclude the event, a Certamen competition is scheduled, involving high school students from Salento whose study subjects have a biomedical focus, during which the students will present the best innovative idea in this area. 

The jury will select the best among them, and the winning students will receive a plaque as award of merit. 

Furthermore, upon prior online reservation, participants will have the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnology of the Italian Institute of Technology (CBN-IIT) and to meet with the researchers who work there.  Throughout the course of the evening, the areas of the Palazzo Baronale will be populated by the stands of numerous research institutions as well as national and multinational companies operating in the Healthcare sector, which will show the public the latest research and technology discoveries in this area.
